Will my copper be weighed honestly? This is how we weigh — openly and traceably
It's the most common worry in scrap trading that few say out loud: will I really get the right weight? At Romuralli, the batch is always weighed on site with a certified scale, whose certification date is visible at the weighing. You read the numbers yourself, the only deduction is the empty weight, and the weighing leaves a record — one you can check yourself too.
Weight is not an opinion — it is weighed and recorded
Many a seller has wondered whether they got the right weight, or whether the buyer eyeballed it slightly low. That's why Romuralli makes weighing transparent: the batch is weighed on a certified scale in your presence, and every figure — empty weight, gross weight and the net weight calculated from them — is recorded.
The net weight you are paid on is always the gross weight minus the tare weight. No coefficient, no rounding down, no “moisture deduction”. Once the weight is clear, the price per kilo for the day is applied on top of it, and that price is public and the same for everybody.

The weight of the empty container or pallet is weighed and recorded before the cable. This is the only deduction — and you see it.
The gross weight is weighed
The cable batch is weighed on an identified scale. You read the figure yourself; we do not record a weight you have not seen.
The net weight is calculated openly
Net weight = gross weight − tare weight. The formula is the same every time, and no hidden deductions are added to it.
Recording and payment
The weighing is recorded and you get a receipt. Payment is made as agreed, at the price per kilo for the day, only once the figures are clear to you too.
The only deduction is the tare weight — and that is weighed too
This is how the same batch looks on the weighing receipt. The figures are an example illustrating the method of calculation, not a price estimate.
Amount payable = net weight × the price per kilo for the day. No other coefficients and no intermediate stages. The example above stops at the weight, because the price per kilo changes daily — further down it is broken open to show how that price per kilo is formed.
The tare weight is the weight of the empty container or pallet itself — it is not copper, so it is not paid for. An honest tare weight is weighed separately, not guessed. We make no other deductions from the weight: no “waste or moisture percentage” and no rounding to the seller’s loss. How much copper the batch holds relative to plastic affects the price class per kilo, not the weight measured.

A receipt is issued for every batch we collect: the weight and the amount in black and white, for your bookkeeping as well.
A traceable record
The weighing record holds the tare weight, the gross, the net, the scale used, the person who weighed and the time. Every figure is traceable.
Weighing certificate on request
You can ask for a weighing certificate: seller, date, tare weight, gross, net, scale and its own certificate number on a single form.
The same price per kilo for every seller — and nothing else is deducted from it
The price per kilo for the day is public and the same for every seller. Here is what affects you: what is deducted from the weight, and what you are not charged for.
The price per kilo is not negotiated seller by seller and it does not depend on whether we know you or on how big your batch is. The same daily price per kilo applies to every seller, and you can see it on the front page before you contact us.
- ✓There is no charge for collection. No collection fee, no travel costs, no fuel surcharge.
- ✓There is no charge for handling. No weighing fee, no sorting or handling fee, no receipt fee.
- ✓No deductions are made from the weight other than the weighed tare weight. No moisture or waste percentage, no coefficient, no rounding down of the weight.
- ✓The price does not change after collection. The price per kilo the deal is confirmed at is the one you are told at the weighing.
You can look up the value of your own batch in advance: enter the cable type and the estimated weight in the cable calculator, and you will see an estimate at the day’s price. Three points where you reach a human being — not a bot
The weighing, the quality class and the payment are the moments where trust either holds or does not. A human being answers at those.
You think the weighing is wrong
Say so right there on site. We weigh the batch again and record the new weighing as an event of its own — the original reading is not erased.
You think the quality class is wrong
If the batch has been classified as IT cable and you think it is copper cable (or the other way round), ask for the reasoning. We will tell you what the classification is based on, and if we are wrong we correct it before payment.
The payment does not match
Compare the net weight and the price per kilo on the receipt with the amount paid. If they do not match, call — we will look into it and put it right. We will not ask you to fill in a form about this.
The same number for all three
Call 040 124 8590 — on weekdays from 5 to 01. The same number works on WhatsApp if you want to send a photo of the receipt or of the scale reading. A human being answers on that number; we do not route a weighing, quality or payment dispute to a chatbot or into a form queue.
What you can check about us somewhere other than from us
A company that says of itself that it is honest is the weakest possible source on its own honesty. So here is what you can check without us:
- Y-tunnus 3629890-2 — the entry for Romuralli Oy in the YTJ information service of the Finnish Trade Register and the Tax Administration. There you can see that the company exists, its domicile, its line of business and its register entries (including the VAT register). We cannot edit that page.
- The weighing certificate — ask for it, and compare its figures with the receipt and the payment. It is the only document that concerns your batch specifically.
Questions about the honesty of the weighing
Will my cable be weighed honestly?
Yes. The batch is weighed on site and you read the figures yourself. The tare weight and the gross weight are weighed and recorded, and the net weight is calculated openly as gross minus tare. If you wish, you can get a certificate of the weighing showing these figures.
Do I see for myself how much the batch weighs?
You do. The weighing is done while you are present and you read the scale yourself. We do not record a weight you have not seen. The net weight and the price per kilo for the day are stated before the deal is confirmed.
Do I get a certificate or a receipt for the weighing?
You do. A weighing and purchase receipt is issued for every batch we collect. You can also ask for a weighing certificate, which brings together the seller details, the date, the tare weight, the gross weight, the calculated net weight, the scale used and its own certificate number.
What is deducted from the weight?
The only deduction is the tare weight, that is the weight of the container or the pallet itself. That too is weighed and recorded separately, so you can see where the deduction comes from. We make no eyeballed or hidden deductions from the weight.
What if I doubt the result of the weighing?
Say so right away. We can weigh the batch again, and the new weighing is recorded as an event of its own — the original reading is not erased. The disagreement is noted in the weighing record and the matter is settled together before payment.
