What sellers ask before their first batch
We've gathered the answers sellers ask for most often before their first batch — from price and weighing to cable types and pickup.
How is the price per kilo set?
The buy price follows copper's daily market price, and the same day's price applies to every seller. The site's price card shows two classes: the price per kilo for electrical and copper cable, and for Cat/data network cable. The price is always in euros per kilo.
The copper content of the cable decides which class a batch belongs to. It does not reduce the weighed weight.
How do I know the batch is weighed honestly?
The empty weight — the weight of the container or reel — is weighed and recorded separately before the cable. You read the numbers yourself, and the empty weight is the only deduction from the weight.
You get a receipt for the weighing, and a weighing certificate on request. The whole practice is described on the page fair weighing.
Do drivers carry cash?
Yes, cash is a payment option again. The driver can pay for the purchased batch in cash on the spot if you agree to it at pickup — otherwise, payment is made by bank transfer to the account you provide.
Do you buy aluminium cable or fibre optic?
For aluminium cable (for example AXMK and AMKA) we do not publish a fixed price per kilo. Ask for an estimate and we will look at the batch together. AMCMK and AHXAMK-W cables have a copper screen, so their price depends on the share of copper.
Fibre optic contains no copper, so we do not buy it as copper cable. We tell you this up front so you do not haul a batch here for nothing.
Do you buy antenna or coaxial cable?
We no longer buy antenna/coaxial cable (for example RG6/RG59) — it contains practically no copper. We still buy Cat/data network cable (Cat5e/Cat6) and telephone cable.
What about old lead-sheathed paper cables?
We do not accept lead-sheathed paper cable, such as PLKVJ and APAKM, at all. It is hazardous waste, not ordinary scrap, and we do not handle it. Do not bring or send it to us — we will not accept it under any circumstances.
Where can you collect from, and who arranges it?
Our service area is Southern, South-Eastern and Central Finland. Pickup and its terms are agreed case by case based on the batch's size and location, and we tell you the terms before the pickup is confirmed.
How quickly will I get an answer?
We usually reply to enquiries during the same working day. If you would rather agree things by phone, just leave your number as a callback request or call directly on 046 620 7159.
Is the price card estimate a binding offer?
No. The home page's price card shows the day's per-kg price, and it is always only an estimate. The final amount is based on the weighed weight and the cable's actual quality, which are only seen on site. For a larger batch, over 250 kg, we give a better price — ask for a quote separately.
